Dao and Erica Souza, owners of the Sitio Potenza, are the very definition of industrious and hard working.

Descendants of Italian immigrants, they have been multi-generational coffee farmers around Brazil until having settled at their own farm, the Sitio Potenza, in the Sao Paulo countryside. The farm is named after the town of Potenza in southern Italy.

The couple, along with their two teenage daughters Sabrina and Mirela, are responsible for all aspects of managing the Sitio Potenza (pronounced Sit-chee-oh Poh-ten-za). In 2019, the family spent two weeks planting young coffee plants by hand, and today are starting to see the fruits of their labors.

The farm is small - only about 16 hectares in total and also grows other crops and maintains livestock such as pigs and chickens.

At full capacity, Sitio Potenza will produce 500 bags of coffee. Boarding Pass Coffee is lucky to have received a limited amount of these beans for our coffee travelers.
