Introducing BPC Travel Talks

Introducing BPC Travel Talks

Surrounded by airplane seats every day at Boarding Pass Coffee, the travel bug can be
persistent. It made its way into my New Years resolution of traveling more in 2025. Travel is important to Murilo and me - it laid the groundwork for our relationship and worked its way in to the concept of Boarding Pass Coffee.

Ever since we opened our first Boarding Pass Coffee shop, we have aspired to be - in
addition to a destination for great coffee - a place for community to gather and connect,
whether it be music or open mic.

And this jived with one of my fondest memories. When I was a management consultant on assignment in Pasadena, CA, I frequented a travel bookstore called Distant Lands. They would host evenings where they would break out the folding chairs and someone, an average Joe, would present about an interesting trip they had taken. It was like that old stereotype about how people return from trips and have all their friends sit through a boring slide show of their trip pictures. Except these weren’t boring presentations!

They were off the beaten path and unique. I learned things I never even knew existed.
Someone talked about their trip to Haiti implementing seismometers, and someone else
who went to Cuba before travel restrictions were loosened.

The sessions were not sold out or even that crowded, to be honest. But they were full of
engaged, curious individuals. Inquisitive and appreciative of experiences. People who
carved out time in their busy lives to prioritize learning something new about the world.

Within the walls of Boarding Pass Coffee, we get to meet so many people with their
own stories. One veteran recently traveled to Vietnam to meet up with his South
Vietnamese guide from during the war after reconnecting on social media. The founder of the non-profit Partners for Care focuses on uplifting lives in Kenya. An avid tea drinker and blogger who has been to over 60 countries. Countless flight attendants, pilots, airplane geeks, and world travelers.

This is the kind of people Boarding Pass Coffee attracts – those who love learning and
experiencing new things about the world around us.

For this reason, we are excited to launch a new series called BPC Travel Talks. I have
enlisted the help of some of these inspiring people I have met along the way – from all walks of life, all professions, and all with their own travel stories to share!

BPC Travel Talks will be held the first Tuesday of every month, at rotating Boarding Pass
Coffee locations. The first session was on Tuesday, February 4th at our Downtown Alpharetta City Center location where I gave a talk about one of my favorite travel experiences – climbing Mount Kilimanjaro.

Each session will be different and as unique as the trips discussed. Lineups to come – if
you’d like to part of this series please email info@boardingpasscoffee.com

No experience is required – just a passion to share your travel experiences with family, friends, and BPC coffee travelers!
