ABOUT BARICHARA, COLOMBIA
When you think of colonial Gran Colombia, you probably imagine sipping a coffee at an open-air cafe in a cobblestoned central plaza. The weather is pleasant with a slight breeze, and the church bells ring at noon. Surrounding the plaza, low slung whitewashed houses are accented with colorful doors and shutters. Off in the distance is a picturesque backdrop of creamy white mountains.
This is present day Barichara, one of the best preserved colonial towns in all of Colombia. It is the quintessential flashback of a past era, where authenticity is sustained.
