Bonito (Brazil) Organic - Medium Roast

This is the first organically grown bean from our farm, and we call it Bonito. It is no coincidence that 'bonito' means 'beautiful' in Portuguese, but the town of Bonito is also one of the top ecotourism destinations in Brazil.

About Bonito:

Located in far-flung Mato Grosso do Sul, Bonito offers 38 attractions ranging from Red Macaw -watching, rappelling down to underground caverns, and visiting breathtakingly vivid lagoons. But perhaps the most unique experience is snorkeling in the crystal-clear river of Rio da Prata where an array of fish swim undeterred.

 Bonito has managed to implement a sustainable way to manage tourism. Access to all 38 accredited attractions are regulated and have limits on number of bookings to minimize environmental impact. Tour prices are fixed at a fair rate and are led by a qualified guide who has completed a 2-year program at a federal university.

 Most of the activities in Bonito are water-based, and use of sunscreen and insect repellent while participating in these excursions is strictly forbidden.
