Plaza Botero (Colombia) - Medium-Dark Roast

Fernando Botero was a Colombian painter and sculptor known for his signature style of creating exaggerated forms and shapes of street scenes, objects, animals, and humans.

To the naked eye, Boterismo could be interpreted as simply "painting chubby people." But Botero was adamant that he sees what he paints as volume and has described his work as exploring "sensuality of form."

By depicting oversized objects, people, and animals, he was able to introduce comedic elements of political satire and ironic wit to his art.

While Botero's works are on display around the world, the largest collection of his sculptures is permanently housed in Plaza Botero, surrounded by notable museums.

Located in Medellin's Old Quarter, Plaza Botero is over 75,000 square feet and includes 23 of his voluptuous bronze statues. All of the pieces were donated by Botero himself to contribute to Medellin's urban renewal efforts.
