Geisha, also known as Gesha , is a variety of coffee that originated in Ethiopia’s Gesha Forest.
Geisha coffee trees grow tall and have elongated leaves. They produce oval beans and are best suited for high-altitude regions with nutrient-rich volcanic soil.
For this reason, Central America has excellent conditions for Geisha cultivation. While Geisha coffee trees were introduced to the region in the 1960s, it was not until the early 2000s that Geisha coffee gained widespread popularity for its exceptional flavor, limited quantities, and resulting high prices.
Boarding Pass Coffee’s La Bastilla Geisha roast comes from the renowned Finca La Bastilla in the Jinotega region of Nicaragua. Its clean cup profile offers a clear view of the Geisha variety with floral honeysuckle and fresh fruit notes.
