La Morena (Guatemala) - Medium Roast

The La Morena coffee is a medium roast that pays tribute to the unique topography of Guatemala's coffee growing regions. The sweet aroma and decadent flavor embody the region’s volcanic peaks and mountain tops.

We originally introduced this coffee on International Women's Day in 2022 because it is produced by 23 woman-owned coffee farms from the Huehuetenango region of western Guatemala.

For every sale of La Morena, Boarding Pass Coffee will donate to the Wakami Foundation, which impacts the lives of over 500 women in rural Guatemala by establishing, incubating, and strengthening woman-owned businesses. About La Morena:

Gender equality in Guatemala is an ongoing issue, especially in the male-dominated industry of coffee production. The La Morena program was founded in 2016 alongside Volcafe Guatemala, and in its first year produced a 2000-pound micro lot from four female coffee producers. Today, La Morena features coffee from 23 woman-owned farms in Guatemala with a volume of approximately 40,000 pounds.
