Jinja (Uganda) Medium-Dark Roast

The town of Jinja is located in southern Uganda on the shores of Lake Victoria and commonly known as the 'Source of the Nile.'

Many people associate the Nile River with Egypt, but the river starts in Uganda and flows north until it empties into the Mediterranean Sea in the northern part of Egypt. The Nile is one of only two major rivers in the world that flow in a northern direction.

The name Jinja translates to 'Place of Rocks' or 'Place of Flat Rocks' in the languages of both peoples (the Baganda and Basoga ethnic groups) that lived on either side of the Nile River.

Although Uganda is a land-locked country in East-Central Africa, the town of Jinja has plenty of water from both Lake Victoria and the Nile River. Jinja has earned its reputation as an adventure watersport hotspot with endless activities such as white water rafting/kayaking, speedboating, fishing, rock climbing, and bungee jumping.
